Two-part Taiwanese dramatisation of the Wushe Incident in Taiwan in 1930, in which the indigenous Seediq people were massacred after an uprising against the occupying Japanese forces in the Wushe region. Lin Ching-Tai stars as Mona Rudao, the chief of the Seediq village of Mahebu. Having endured Japanese oppression of his people for over 30 years, Rudao risks his own life to assemble a band of 300 villagers to fight against the Japanese. But the Japanese government retaliates by sending an army of 3000 men to quell the uprising, resulting in a merciless bloodbath.
