Powerful and hard hitting, We Are Monster is an unflinching account of a brutal crime that would shock the nation.
On 8th February 2000 at Feltham Young Offenders Institute, Robert Stewart, a known violent racist was placed in a cell with Zahid Mubarek who was due to be released in six weeks. During this time, Stewart was allowed, through indifference bordering on institutional culpability, to become the 'monster' he always wanted to be.
But Mubarek would never regain his freedom, as only hours before his release, he was killed by Stewart in an unprovoked attack.
