Do werewolves actually exist? The belief in werewolves has haunted the imaginations of people from all over the world. The great interest, and for some obsession, about the werewolf dates all the way back to ancient times. Today, many people believe they actually exist. Not surprisingly it has been the subject of many films and has been immortalised by Hollywood. The films features many guest stars of the day, including Lon Chaney, who was only famous for his portrayal of the wolf man. The word 'werewolf' comes from an Anglo-Saxon word meaning 'wolf' and 'man'. It is perhaps logical that many people believe that the werewolf represents the evil and primitive urges that are buried deep in the subconscious of modern day man, whatever the truth, the legend of the werewolf has remained one of the greatest and most enthralling mysterious known to man.
