Documentary by Swedish filmmaker Terje Carlsson, examining the effect of the Israeli occupation on ordinary Palestinians. The film focuses primarily on 17-year old Leila Sarsour, a student at the Al-Qurtuba-school: a Palestinian girls' school surrounded by Israeli military installations and settlements. Although she is a Moslem, Leila does not fit the widespread Western stereotype that characterises Arab women as weak and victimised. Despite daily harrassment by Israeli soldiers and settlers, Leila and her classmates are strong, intelligent and outspoken - and share a clear vision of a daily life free from oppression and violence.
