In winter 1962, young cockney photographer David Bailey is given an important assignment by British Vogue to do a fashion shoot in New York. He sticks his neck out, and insists on using unknown model Jean Shrimpton. Who happens to be his girlfriend... In a freezing winter week in Manhattan, they behave very badly, fall in love, drive their fashion editor Lady Clare Rendlesham to tears, make startling photographs, and help invent the sixties.
