Werther: Metropolitan Opera (Altinoglu) (2014)

Alain Altinoglu conducts this Metropolitan Opera production of the Jules Massenet opera based on the story by Goethe. Jonas Kaufmann stars as the titular character, a lovelorn young poet whose heart is set on the beautiful Charlotte (Elina Garanca). Unfortunately, Charlotte has already pledged herself to another. How will Werther deal with the thwarting of his romantic ambitions?
