In this classic hospital farce, comic genius Peter Sellers plays Dr. Albert T. Hopfnagel, a greedy and crooked hospital administrator who has perfected the duplicitous arts of conning insurance companies, bill-padding and unnecessary surgery. Mistrusted by patients and resented by other staffers, his assistant (and lover!) Alice seeks revenge for one plot too many, and when a perfectly fit construction worker has a kidney unnecessarily removed, she spies her opportunity to make him pay for all his personal and professional infidelities. In cahoots with the city hospital administrator, she frames Hopfnagel for professional misconduct and has him thrown out of the hospital, only for him to sneak back as a patient! - Actors:
