Paris suburbs, 1972. A right-wing mayor, Joseph Boussard (André Falcon), and his deputy, are involved in the murder of an activist. Dr. Peyrac (Bernard Fresson), highly esteemed by voters, politically opposed to Boussard, applies. The deputy mayor then tries to blackmail him, notably by revealing fake photos of his wife.
