An alienated teen in a multi-ethnic high school with doubts about multiculturalism finds solace on an internet chat room for similarly disaffected youth. Catherine Chapman (Sarah Polley) quickly hooks up with the shadowy National Identity Movement led by the charismatic Inga Kolneder, played by Lynn Redgrave. Chapman's scrubbed good looks quickly take her to prominence as the poster child for NM's ultra right wing revolution. Before she comes up for air, Chapman is knee deep in the racist group's holy trinity of sex, blood, and hate rock and roll. 'White Lies' tells the truth about the dark heart beating just below society's skin.
