Synopsis:
Antarctica. The most isolated landmass on earth. Six million square miles of ice. Six months of darkness. Temperatures of minus 120 degrees and winds at 100 miles per hour. For U.S. Marshall Carrie Stetko, (Kate Beckinsale) things are about to take an even more dangerous turn. During the last 3 days of her assignment, as the complete closure of the base for winter approaches, she is sent to investigate a body on the ice. Antarctica’s first ever murder. A shocking discovery in itself, it will plunge her into an even more bizarre mystery and the revelation of secrets long-buried under the endless ice … secrets that someone believes are still worth killing for.
As Stetko races to find the killer before he finds her, winter is already closing in. In the deadly Antarctic whiteout, she wont see him till he’s a breath away.

Stone Cold Dull - Whiteout review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
17/01/2010

Whiteout is atrocious, bland and dull. As soon as the Dark Castle Entertainment logo appeared onscreen I feared the worst as the studio has given us some rubbish over the years. The film is well shot and looks very slick with no expense sparred. You can tell how bad things are going to be within the first few minutes as a shower scene with the miscast Kate Beckinsale is provided for no reason other than to provide some flesh in a plot devoid of love scenes. The main issue is the script itself, which based on a comic book is threadbare and the dangers of the environment or threat of a killer is never transmitted. Whether this is the overuse of CGI outdoors or poor directing doesn’t matter as it tries to be clever and fails miserably like the whole film.
