Down-to-earth single mum and restaurant owner Pearl (Kerry Godliman) is now an established PI in her English coastal town of Whitstable. Her cases often overlap with the police investigations conducted by gruff DCI Mike McGuire (Howard Charles), but their relationship is charged by a determination to outdo each other.
