'Wilde Salome' is, as Al Pacino describes it, a kind of "collage of a film", hopefully representing the struggles and highs and lows of presenting a challenging and unique piece of writing by one of the literary geniuses of the 20th century, Oscar Wilde. Pacino explores what it was like to put the play on live in Los Angeles and engage with the resulting problems and issues as well as participate in the discovery of a new star, Jessica Chastain, as "Salome". He also takes on the quest of trying to understand this great writer's need to express something so utterly different than anything he had ever written before. And on top of it all, to make a movie of the entire event and put on film an unusual, revealing and avant-garde journey into the light and heart of Oscar Wilde's great master work Salome.
