This DVD set tells the story in Fourteen Episodes of American Forces' involvement in World War II in Europe, North America and The Pacific using film from U.S. Government Archives shot in the midst of combat. It also includes informative explanatory maps of the European Theatre Of Operations, The North Africa Campaign and The Pacific Theatre Of Operations created by West Point Military Academy detailing the movements of the army and naval forces during the major conflicts. The booklet includes an extensive article by Captain Dale Dye (U.S. Marine Corp, retired), the military consultant on Hollywood movies such as "Platoon" and "Band of Brothers", describing the life of G.I.s during World War II - ordinary men in an extraordinary situation. A second informative article tells the story of the U.S. Marines, immortalised in the Joe Rosenthal photograph, who raised the Stars & Stripes at the top of Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima on 23rd February 1945.
