Jim Henson is one of the world's most famous puppeteers responsible for the creation of the Muppets which are stars of Fraggle Rock (before they got their own show). A fun-loving group of furry subterranean creatures gained the cult following with its entertaining combination of music and comedy which you can now experience in the three series that were released on DVD. Its silliness is probably the best part of the series because they managed to deal a lot of important topics, including prejudice, spirituality, personal identity, the environment, and social conflict, through this format and still become audiences favourites.

  • Muppet Show (1976)

If there's a classic must-see TV series for children list, Muppet Show has to be a part of it! Puppeteer Jim Henson's most notable work, the TV series presented a number of sketches every episode including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear. While all these different characters are definitely more appealing when you are young, some of them are so memorable they became a big part of the popular culture – a lot like Sesame Street. The TV series also produced not one but two successful feature-length films in recent years (and eight in total), The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted.
