But that doesn't mean you can't see it again, and Valentine's Day is a good occasion. Edward Lewis is a rich corporate man in need of an escort and that's where Vivian Ward comes in. She's a diamond in a rough, spirited and streetwise, but otherwise shunned in the big world because of her profession. This film's been called a timeless rags-to-riches story and that summary depicts it perfectly. Also, Roy Orbinson's song Pretty Woman is a classic we still like listening.

    Before Sunrise is one of the few romantic films that had successful sequels, and because of these instalments it needs to be a part of the best Valentine's Day Films list. Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy play twentysomethings who meet on a train in Europe. They feel instant connection and venture into exploring Vienna after hours, getting to know the city and one another. In 2004's Before Sunset, the film picked up the story nine years after the events of the original, and the third one, Before Midnight released in 2013, picked up the story again after eighteen years of the original film. Directed by Richard Linklater, it is one of his finer works and it's a perfect date film. Why not make a marathon and watch all three?

A poor young man falls in love with a rich upper-class girl, but they are soon separated by their differences. When they meet again after several years, their passion is rekindled, forcing Allie to choose between her soulmate and class order. If you're already a fan of this story, Valentine's Day is a perfect day to revisit it. Domhnall Gleeson stars as Tim Lake, 21-year-old who is told an incredible family secret by his father: all the men in his family have the ability to relive their past. He tries to use this special ability to change his past in order to improve his future including the love of his life, Mary (played by Rachel McAdams). The film doesn't only centre on the love story but also on Tim's relationship with his father, the man who has guided him not only through his childhood but his less than conventional young adult life.
