Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander), the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, is driven to solve the puzzle of her father's mysterious death on her own. Miranda finds it impossible to stand up to her eccentric mother Penny (Patricia Hodge) who makes embarrassing and desperate attempts to marry her off. In Nigeria, Georgie (Michelle Keegan) is working as part of the British Army's effort to help train local forces in the fight against the terrorist group Boko Haram.
