When Dr. Bruno Hamel's 8-year-old daughter goes missing one school day, he enlists the local police to help him search the neighbourhood. It doesn't take long before they find his daughter's body in the nearby woods, bound, raped and murdered. The doctor and his wife are devastated, but the police soon state that they've located the killer. They've DNA-matched the semen of a known pervert. It's an open-and-shut case. Wracked with the loss of his only child, Dr. Hamel sets up a torture chamber in an abandoned cabin, and enlists a couple of thugs to help him get the murderer out of police custody. Over the next week, Hamel methodically tortures his daughter's killer, even as the local police slowly close in on Hamel's backwoods hiding place. - Actors:

Disturbing film - you won't forget it - 7 Days review by RP
This is an uncomfortable and disturbing film to watch. It's not a horror film, it's not a thriller, it's not a gung-ho revenge film, and if you're looking for blood and gore or so-called 'torture porn' then you won't find it here. What you will find is a superbly tense psychological drama as a distraught father takes revenge on the man who raped and murdered his young daughter. Over the period of 7 days after which he says he will kill the man, he comes to realise that he is only punishing himself and that nothing will bring back his daughter. There is almost no soundtrack and the virtual silence of the film serves to heighten the tension.
The film is French Canadian and the photography superb, with a washed-out look which suits both the mood of the film and the magnificent Canadian lakeside location. After watching it I felt disturbed for several hours – it's not an easy subject nor an easy film to watch and I guarantee you won't forget it. Highly recommended. 4/5 stars.

Sad to say this Very Promising looking movie really didn't deliver .
It starts off very well,very strong , a chilling Child Death and Rape .
Parents driven to Despair and in Grief look for Revenge .
Gruesome, Painful watching but then it all seems to fizzle out of energy and the ending is a terrible let down .
This could have been a Really Great Movie . it tells a powerful story of a parent torn apart by Grief and Guilt.
Sadly it didn't quite make it to the finishing line .
Definitely worth watching ,but sadly only the once .
