Captivating biopic
- Colette review by Alphaville
If you’re in the mood for a period piece with a touch of scandal, this is a very watchable film about the early life of French writer and performer Colette. It’s not the kind of film that has any great cinematic moments, but it works well as a high-class bigger-budget Sunday night TV drama. Keira Knightley and Dominic West carry the film as Colette and her husband, who fronts as the author of her books. Both are such charismatic characters that, after following their escapades through turn-of-the-century Paris, you may well want to read the books.

Brilliant period piece

Well told tale with great performances at it's heart. The two leads spark off each other brilliantly

Disappointing given the reviews

Became quite boring overall. No real drama. I had no interest in the real-life characters by the end.

Intriguing feminist tale
- Colette review by GH
A wonderful story, based on a true story, of a French female author's journey to become an accredited, celebrated writer in her own right. Keiran Knightly is excellent in portraying the central character and the depiction of Parisian literary society in th late 19th century is diverse, interesting and entertaining. A marvellous tale, well worth watching.

Enthralling to a Point, but for me Miss Fired
- Colette review by KW
Interesting bio pic of Collette and the problems she faced in getting her due worth being recognised in a society where women were still expected to play the second role. Great performance by Keira Knightley, but Dominic West at times seemed to red hot one moment and appearing to be going through the motions the next.

Colette
- Colette review by PG
The film was average and I was further annoyed by the fact that it stopped twice so I had to skip it’s in order to reach the end.
