Synopsis:
Coogan and Rudd are a "big screen match made in heaven" in this poignant, endearing and laugh-out-loud comedy as they play a bickering and flamboyant couple (with an extensive erotic film collection), who's lavish life is thrown in to turmoil with the sudden appearance of their long-lost grandson. Can this unlikely new family unit grow up and leave their eclectic, well-trodden lives in order to devote themselves as parents? 'Ideal Home' is a sweet and sassy celebration of same sex parenting that shows Coogan and Rudd at their comedy best.

An Unexpected Treat - Ideal Home review by MAT

Spoiler Alert

I came across this film accidently simply because it starred Paul Rudd, and what a treat. A story of love and friendship and family, put together in an unusual way, focusing on a gay couple suddenly landed with a youngster.

Great acting and a heart warming storyline, thoroughly enjoyable and I recommend it to anyone who fancies something a bit different.

Funny in parts - Ideal Home review by KW

Spoiler Alert
05/12/2018

Interesting film about high profile gay chef and his partner who manages his film and tv programmes, thrown into disarray when the grandson of the chef is forced to live with them whilst his father serves a prison term. The grandson 's diet has consisted of Taco Bell's and being street wise provides a whole new focus for the life of grandad and partner. Funny in parts, stretched to breaking point at other times, the film is watchable but is not one one I can whole heartedly recommend.
