I love action films of the 80s and 90s. I have wasted many hours watching Segal, Stallone, Snipes et al. However, I had never seen a film where Chuck Norris was the sole hero of a movie.
I wish I hadn't bothered, after picking this, which was supposed to be one of his better movies. There are a few fight scenes placed together with random acts of gurella terrorism. There is no plot to speak of without even bothering to include a basic three act structure. It ends up feeling like someone's random youtube mashup video trying to chop stuff into a coherent film.
You want to like Max played by Norris but in efforts to make him a cool lone wolf he comes off as a cold hearted, apathetic loner. Maybe this was the intention to make him a force of nature but in the end his acts of random violence seem to solve very little, if anything.
What we end up with is astonishingly a very boring action film with an interesting premise, a lot of noise but nothing of interest. There are better films out there like Red Dawn that would be much more rewarding viewing.
