Synopsis:
Isabelle Adjani plays Elle, a provocative 19-year-old whose move, with her mother and sick father, to a sleepy Provence village sets the locals afire with lust and gossip. She soon finds a suitor in gentle Pin-Pon (Alain Souchon), the local mechanic, and they marry shortly after. Then the tone shifts, when a dark secret emerges from her past, the film becomes more complex and Adjani's character reveals a disturbing side as she manipulates events and men in order to seek revenge for an outrage inflicted in her childhood...

A very Satisfying French Thriller... - One Deadly Summer review by sw

Spoiler Alert
06/06/2023

I just thought I'd pop in a comment on this very satisfying French thriller considering that their were non here.

The first 20 minutes suggest this film is going to be a typical French, rural set, sexy comedy of sorts however the thriller element slowly builds and ramps up to a to tense and satisfying conclusion.

Just a word on the mesmerising performance of Isabelle Adjani... She delivers a mighty turn as the troubled but gorgeous femme fatale / heroine. The film is worth seeing just for her quite brilliant acting and jaw-dropping beauty. 8/10.
