This film starts with the the very difficult relationship between a tough, rugged, no-nonsense Hebridean father and his son, who has emigrated to San Francisco. The father goes to the USA to visit him and falls for his grandson, the most adorable baby you could ever see. He also develops a relationship with a younger local woman. In the end the family return to their Hebridean roots and become reconciled. A lovely film and very convincing.
George Roby.
Good storyline with a good cast and easy watching on a Sunday night. Both my husband and I (both 60 + year olds) thoroughly enjoyed it.
Rather slow, but absolutely sincere with some lovely Hebridean scenery, and the most extraordinary performance from a baby ever...completely charming. Will look out for him in years and films to come.
