Fantastic!
- Saw review by CP Customer
One of the best horror films to be released in a very long time in our opinion, but not one we're in a hurry to watch again in a hurry. Must-see for all horror fans.

Starts well then tails off
- Saw review by VG
A shonkily produced kidnap mystery of torture both psychological and physical, effective in its claustrophobia but silly when it gets frantic.

Inspiration for Escape Rooms?
- Saw review by HW
Nice to be reminded years later of how fairly decent the first ‘Saw’ film was as an intense thriller. This first film was definitely more about the twists and the psychological tension rather than the gore (although some scenes are still fairly gnarly. Don’t watch this if you don’t like saws and feet mixing). The killer’s motivations also remain very original and disturbingly understandable. Also I had no idea Cary Elwes was in this. His career really took a dark turn!

One of the best horror films ever made!
- Saw review by CP Customer
While the storyline revolves around a similar theme to the 2001 movie 'Seven', (a serial killer tries to make the profane see the light by torturing them mentally and physically), Saw is very different in its execution and story telling style, and with a thoroughly engaging storyline it keeps you hooked right until the end credits roll. Due to a tight schedule and an even tighter budget director James Wan uses some absolutely inspired techniques to provide real tension and scares. In one particular scene a character is trying to walk around his blacked out apartment with only the flash in his camera for brief bursts of light, the tension in this scene alone is awesome. One of the best things about Saw is that throughout the film you'll think you've got everything figured out, however, the story has so many clever twists and turns along the way you will repeatedly be proved wrong… and the final ten minutes of this film is nothing short of a pure adrenalin rollercoaster. Saw is without doubt one of the best horror films ever made and a must see movie!
