Synopsis:
Denmark 2025. One year after a major bomb attack in Copenhagen radicalisation around the country has intensified and ethnic tensions are running high. The next parliamentary election is near, and the extremely nationalist political leader Martin Nordahl (Rasmus Bjerg) is set for a landslide victory. 19-year-old Zakaria (Mohammed Ismail Mohammed) gets involved in a radical organisation, where he forms a bond with Ali (Zaki Youssef). The two men cannot agree with the current state of the country, which is turning on its own citizens because of their migration background, and decide to act. However, they are both just tools in the hands of people with power.
As the men try to make their mark, their brotherhood will be tested and their actions will have grave consequences on their lives.

One-sided, Very Biased Political film re Muslim immigration in Denmark set in 2024 - Sons of Denmark review by PV

Spoiler Alert
29/12/2022

OK so this film is more propaganda than fiction.

Despite claims, socalled far right terrorism is not a major issue in any European country and nowhere near the equivalent of Islamist terrorism - the stats for that are terrifying. MI5 says there are 50,000 ticking Islamist timebombs in the UK alone.

Add to all that one-sided propaganda, repeating the old trope of perpetual victimhood, this film is way too long and muddled.

Watch FOUR LIONS and not this. One star

A bit formulaic - Sons of Denmark review by GC

Spoiler Alert
17/07/2020

I watched this film expecting more than I got, being a fan of Scandinavian films and TV series. I found it somewhat formulaic and although the storyline was interesting, it hardly shone new light on the issues involved.
