Over-rated Drama - I did not watch to the end of the series
- Succession: Series 1 review by PV
There has been a lot of hype about how wonderful this series is. Well they must be watching a different one from the series I watched which managed to be so dull, boring, predictable and uninteresting, I gave up after 2 DVDs. I so rarely do that.
My advice is watch THE AMERICANS instead or THE SOPRANOS.

Dull, with unlikeable characters
- Succession: Series 1 review by PL
Some friends gave this rave reviews but I gave up after three episodes in the first series. The characters are extreme personalities, with no-one particularly likeable. The plot was also pretty dull and unsophisticated. Avoid.

Bankrupt
- Succession: Series 1 review by cr
Massivly overated and overhyped american drama about a wealthy family of unpleasent people who you will not care about.
Slow dull and pointless but if "fascinating" chat about stocks and shares and business is your thing then have at it!!

Elegant Dark Comedy
- Succession: Series 1 review by GJ
As the first episode progresses you wonder if this is a drama , a thriller or a political mystery ... the series has elements of all of these - but it is also a very black comedy. These characters are unlikable but you are drawn to each of them as their fortunes fluctuate .
There is something magnetic about power - you are drawn into a kind of bunker mentality that the privileged and their followers possess . You just have to see what's happening in America today to see that bunker mentality of the rich and powerful in the White House
The production values are solid as are the performances . This is now into series 3 so it will be interesting to see how this story and its characters develop.

It's alright
- Succession: Series 1 review by JR
I think the main problem for me is the characters aren't very likeable. It's a series about a family of rich douchebags arguing with each other about how to run their massive corporation that has made them stupidly wealthy.
I think it's supposed to be funny, and occasionally it is, but most of the time it misses the mark for me. Overall it's well enough written and acted to keep me watching, but I probably won't bother with the second series.
