Good idea, but a dreadful mess - The Axiom review by JD

Spoiler Alert
07/12/2019

Looks like this was done on a pretty small budget. And it shows.

The film was every where with a combination of making no sense, a full set of incredibly annoying characters and those characters saying and doing things humans just wouldnt do or say in those situations.

The 6 main cast has 2 women who can do no wrong and 4 men, 3 of which are useless numpties and one a creepy older guy.

Something that springs to mind as maybe comparable is cabin in the woods. But that has a proper director and some budget and is vastly superior.

Get rid of Gerrik! - The Axiom review by NP

Spoiler Alert
02/09/2022

A group of young friends are searching for MacKenzie’s (Hattie Smith) missing sister; mercifully this gang is reasonably free of the usual empty-headedness that often affects such groupings, with the exception of the sole English character Gerrik (Michael Peter Harrison) – clearly designed to be comedic but remarkably annoying. The others laugh at his overplayed snarkiness. I’m surprised they don’t dump him.

The ideas, that verge on creepy sci-fi, are possibly too ambitious for this production, but there are some nice moments where it appears events are contracting out of the control of the group, and Taylor Edwards as Edgar in particular displays some fine acting. My score is 6 out of 10.

No subtitles so they don't intend on anyone with a hearing problem renting this. How hard can it be to put subtitles on?
