The world's best art forger (John Travolta) makes a deal with a crime syndicate to get an early release from prison, but in return he must pull off an impossible heist He must forge a renowned painting by Claude Monet, steal the original from the museum where it is displayed and replace it with a replica so perfect that no one will notice. To achieve the impossible, he enlists the help of his cantankerous father, Joe (Christopher Plummer), and son Will (Tye Sheridan), and together they plan the heist of their lives. John, John, the grey goose has gone. - The Forger review by NC
John does OK for a twilight area. He is still likeable on camera. He has done some great films, and some reasonable films, but always is a watchable guy.
Plummer is still moving about, which is incredible, so far away from The Sound of Music. I know he is Irish, and rough-trade, but would a good old Irishman eff and blind continuously, like an American? Shame they made him do it, and he hadn't the confidence to refuse, and od a far stronger character as a result

good thriller story - The Forger review by CP Customer
I enjoyed this thriller from start to finish , good story and as usual good acting . Does a deal to get out of prison early to do another crime , while bridging the gap between him and his sick son.

A B-movie really - too schmaltzy in parts - The Forger review by PV
This is a so-so film - a B-movie though, so don't expect too much.
Hokum plot but OK to stick with it all for the ride.
