- In 2003 a parasitic fungus ravages the planet, turning humans into violent predators known as Infected. Twenty years later, hardened survivor Joel (Pedro Pascal) is hired by a group of rebellious freedom fighters to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What should have been a quick job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey across a postapocalyptic United States, where no one can protect Joel and Ellie but each other.

Excellent - sucks you right into the story - The Last of Us: Series 1 review by AW
At the time of writing this review there were only two others on here, both one-star. This is a shame, because this is one of the best-made shows to come out lately. Yes, I've played the video game, but this is a TV adaptation, so those expecting none-stop action might be disappointed. The character development is first rate, by the end I was fully invested in them and had stopped comparing it mentally with the video game.
The scenes featuring people at varying levels of infection are handled very well, without over-the-top gore but still gripping and very tense at times. Overall, I loved this series and it is one I'll watch again.

every thing that was good about the game has been taken out , so basically all we get is the cut scenes and hardly any action at all . charactors in the game who only got a mention now have an episode to them selves and its all talk . fight and battle scenes from the game are gone or very very brief and the series concentrates mainly on talk , talk and more talk . i wont even bother with series 2 , its a struggle to get through the boredom of the 1st series

Very much different from other post apocalyptic dramas and completely addictive.
