Lost in translation!
- Tully review by BE
Am I the only person not swept away by this movie? I found it syrupy at times along with the vocals on the soundtrack. Almost believable to begin with, before it ran away with itself. A cop out ending and for me, the movie was a waste of time. Usual issue with slurred American vocals and there being no subtitles to access.

Unintended disaster movie
- Tully review by TE
Something of a mess! There are interesting elements, but these are soon lost in a badly edited tale that plays silly games with reality and fantasy.
I hope that Charlize Theron can find a script better worthy of her acting skills next time.

I wanted to like this film but I lost patience with it
- Tully review by Old Devonian
Charlize Theron is brilliant but this film doesn’t really work. She is great as ever but the story was mundane and I lost patience with it and turned off after about an hour.

Comedy?
- Tully review by kg
Cinema Paradiso have this listed as a comedy, it's not, in fact there's nothing funny in the whole film. There's literally no twist, you can work out the entire film / ending after about 10 mins. Absolute load of ****

Wonderful parent drama-comedy with a brilliant twist!
- Tully review by EP
I really enjoyed this film, it had good pieces of drama around being a parent of an expanding family along with the demands this brings, then Tully a night nurse "turns up". There is an absolutely brilliant but gentle twist which seems to have been completely lost on all the other reviews of this film. Then the ending is more dramatic and the twist is well revealed and understood in flash-back.
It isn't a comedy it's a drama comedy with a twist.
Charlize Theron was good as ever and method acted the part to full effect.
Overall a really original film I thought which was not too long, well acted and dramatic - with touches of comedy here and there.

Smart and humane
- Tully review by PR
I thought this was a really smart and thought provoking film (written by Diablo Cody) it focuses on Charlize Theron’s character marlo who is an overstretched, stressed and exhausted mum, the film follows her through the birth of her 3rd child and follows her through the mundane and extraordinary times of coping with a new child, the cast is excellent which always helps, a very humane film and definitely worth a look.

Not a comedy
- Tully review by IP
I didn't find it at all funny. It had promise at the beginning but didn't deliver. I was disappointed. I felt that it lacked credibility.

not good
- Tully review by CP Customer
This film is rathe ludicrous, although I think the concept might have worked with a different plot/script/screenplay. The acting is fine (i started to feel sorry for the actors) but it is so unbelievably unbelievable that it was almost a comedy (as it was supposed to be but probably not for that reason). I agree with other reviewers who have said that it started out with promise before degenerating into rubbish.

interesting dramedy
- Tully review by PC
I do disagree with the previous reviews for this film, it has an interesting premise and Charlize Theron is as watchable as ever. I know some people didn't like the ending but I thought it made sense and brought everything together.
