- Hapless traffic cop Sang-hwan (Seung-beom Ryu) is accidentally hit by a powerful "palm blast" while trying to catch a handbag thief. When he discovers that the blast came from a beautiful martial arts student named Eui-jin (So-yi Yoon), he becomes obsessed with learning the special move himself. Five ancient Tai-Chi masters, impressed that Sang-hwan's exceptionally strong Chi has allowed him to survive the blast, recruit him to train alongside Eui-jin and take on an evil former master who has left the group and is now seeking vengeance.

Cracking fight scenes - Arahan review by Alphaville
Terrific balletic wirework fight scenes with a supercool heroine, an intense floppy-haired baddie and a nerdy hero. Shame about the hero, who is hammy and off-putting. This makes the overlong between-action scenes boring, even childishly knockabout to begin with, but the character does evolve. In any case it’s the fight scenes that make the film worth the price of admission. Beautifully choreographed and directed, the climactic rumble lasts a whole 20 minutes.
