Synopsis:
A human trafficker is infected with an unknown virus and dies in a Bundang hospital. In less than 24 hours since the death of the first patient, more similar cases are reported all over Bundang. Fatalities rise rapidly even before the government can react properly to the virus and more of its citizens are getting infected every minute. The airborne virus turns Bundang in utter chaos and as a desperate measure the government shuts the city down to prevent further outbreaks that could spread to rest of the country and the world. Citizens of Bundang are forced into quarantine zones, as some risk their lives to save those they love, while some risk others to save their own lives...

Standard epidemic movie - Flu review by Alphaville

Spoiler Alert
03/11/2017

Disappointingly pedestrian story of an avian flu epidemic in South Korea. Our everyday hero and heroine, together with her muppet daughter, are caught up in every phase as the epidemic runs its predictable course and the authorities discuss what to do etc. Director Sung-Su Kim at least shows his control of crowd scenes and would go on to make the far more striking Asura: City of Madness a few years later.

Better than I expected - Flu review by WA

Spoiler Alert

Enjoyable movie, typical Korean in that it takes a genre that appears to be done to death and revitalises it. Reminded me a bit of Train to Busan and Shin Godzilla with the political angles and the USA "assistance". Good production values, good acting and direction, my only provisos are 1) the mother being such a self-centred individual and 2) the fact that her daughter keeps wandering off despite being told firmly to stay put. Definitely worth a watch on a long winter's evening.
