Synopsis:
Set in the 1980s, in the former Etruscan landscape of rural Italy, Arthur (Josh O'Connor), a vagabond-type character, is mourning the loss of his love. A local ragtag group of graverobbers make use of his archaeological skills to find ancient tombs filled with artefacts, but Arthur uses the digs to search for a door to the afterlife, of which myths speak, where he imagines reuniting with her.

Not one of her best - La Chimera review by MD

Spoiler Alert
11/08/2024

I've watched a couple of earlier films by the same director and found them fascinating and compelling.

This one however isn't up to the same standard and seems a bit of a whimsical mess and at 2 hours plus, is just too long.

Even the character played by Josh O'connor doesn't have any real depth and he comes across as an Oirish tinker who's wandered into Italy by mistake. But no, he's an Etruscan grave robber (?!). You see the problems....
