Synopsis:
Bamey Thomson (Robert Carlyle) is a hapless barber devoid of charm and 'patter'. His life is mediocre and mundane until an argument at work gets out of hand and he unintentionally becomes embroiled in serial murder. With his sanity threatening to unravel, Barney has to dodge Detective Inspector Holdall (Ray Winstone) and a bickering, distracted local Police force. He turns to his domineering mother Cemolina, played by Emma Thompson in a truly hilarious performance, who takes him on a macabre journey that he never anticipated

Couldn't understand speech, silly scenario who thinks people will pay to watch this stuff. Carlyle should stick to acting.

Quirky little film where Emma and Ray have some fun. Little bit surreal here and there. Hard to sympathise with main character, but Emma Thompson's versatility shows through......
