Redemption Wins Through
- The Shiny Shrimps review by CP Customer
A joyous film covering the lead up to and appearance of the Shinny Shrimps water polo team at a gay games event being held in Split. Add to that the involvement of a crack swimmer who passed some homophobic remark on TV and as he had played water polo as youth is tasked with getting the team to the games. He succeeds in getting them to the games, which becomes an event in itself!

Very Amusing

This film will not test your intellectual ability, but, will make you laugh, and, it is certainly not boring. A feelgood movie with some tragic moments, well worth a watch.

Predictable and Disappointing
- The Shiny Shrimps review by WH
Yes- the actors and dialogue are French - but after this basic fact sinks in you will realise its actually a US movie made with US dollars and for a mainstream US audience.
I found it very formulaic and predictable. We’ve all seen this story many and many times before- made for mainstream US audiences. Think ‘Blades of Glory” for example.
To be honest - I found it homophobic. OK for straights- it just reinforces their normal prejudices of how gay men are supposed to be - but for a gay man like me- well- next time I will ensure I really DO select a proper French Film!

Funny French Comedy
- The Shiny Shrimps review by GI
A mostly feel good French comedy about a gay water polo team. The story follows dedicated swimmer and Olympic hopeful Matthias (Nicolas Gob) who unwisely makes a homophobic comment whilst being interviewed on TV and under threat of being dropped from the national swimming team agrees to coach the Shiny Shrimps, a gay water polo team heading to Croatia for the Gay Games. It's full of clichéd jokes although many are very funny with the obvious clash between the heterosexual Matthias and the mostly overly gay team, most of who act completely infantile the whole time. A well meaning film that is a little too stereotypical and with a fairly predictable story arc but entertaining enough.

A joy to watch
- The Shiny Shrimps review by cw
Lovely entertaining feel good film. You can be any age and anywhere on the sexual spectrum and you will enjoy it. Basically a mildly homophobic sportsman has to coach a team (a family really) of queens, and the entertaining experience improves everyone's lives.

What a great feel good film that’s full of joyous moments. It’s predictable but who cares as it leaves you with a huge smile on your face. Pricilla takes to the pool!!

Not quite Priscilla
- The Shiny Shrimps review by RE
Not quite Priscilla queen of the desert but good fun all the same. Entertaining, camp and fun.
Simple story line camping it up and a little bit of sadness thrown in for good measure.
Enjoyable and a super finale.
