Synopsis:
The BAFTA-winning series returns as director Michael Winterbottom reunites Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon for their last culinary coast-to-coast odyssey. Nearly ten years after their first journey together round the gastronomic hot spots of northern England, Steve and Rob set off on a fourth and final expedition. This time they will set out from the ruins of Troy in modern-day Turkey as they head to Greece to retrace the steps of legendary king Odysseus, hero of Homer's epic poem The Odyssey, on his journey home to Ithaca at the end of the Trojan War.
Along the way, Steve and Rob's semi-fictional alter-egos make pit-stops in search of culture, history, beautiful scenery and, yes, some of the finest dishes in Europe. Pop culture, music, art and even the meaning of life are all discussed in their famous free-flowing conversations, peppered with barbed banter, boisterous in-car singalongs and uncannily life-like celebrity impersonations.

Not what I was expecting - The Trip to Greece review by OD

Spoiler Alert
29/11/2020

This is basically six episodes of Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon having dinner with each other in Greece. 95% of the episodes have nothing to do with either Greece or the food they are eating. 5% is vaguely relevant to their experience in Greece and is a few moments looking at a historical ruin with a rapid description of the scene given whilst impersonating other people. I was expecting this to be a comedy travel experience of two funny guys exploring Greece, Greek culture and cuisine. The comedic stories have either no relevance to the surroundings or are so lost in comedic impersonation and banter that the reason they bothered travelling to Greece was a mystery - it could have been filmed on a sound-stage or a greasy spoon cafe on the A1. My honest opinion was that the comedic value of these two men having dinner together wore off very quickly and I was left feeling mislead by the title.

Funny if you are a fan - The Trip to Greece review by CP Customer

Please don't watch judge the series on this one. The first Trip is the best by far, really good. So witty, and such a unique comedy. The DVD extras and out-takes are hilarious. The second to Italy is good, and the history parts very interesting. This one is not nearly as funny, although still very watchable.
