Walking pace - The Walker review by Kurtz

Spoiler Alert
09/03/2009

You can’t help but admire Woody Harrelson’s suit/tie combinations and the pitch-perfect re-creation of the shadow-world of Washington politics in “The Walker”, which focuses on the bored and cynical wives of the power players, but there’s precious little action to get your teeth into. There’s a rather half-hearted foot chase and a some threatening behaviour in a bar, but mostly it’s a question of sitting back and watching Woody realising how empty and precarious his existence on the margins of this world is as his friends and confidantes close ranks against him. Like Woody’s character, the film is great to look at but short of substance.

Gatsby goes quietly - The Walker review by NC

As Woody gets older has a potential he did not have before, but not utilised in most of his films, apart from Out of the Furnace.

Little run-out for 3 older ladies to earn a few bob though.

Parallax View was made years ago, but had more pace and style, but Bryan Ferry music is good touch throughout this film.

Is OK, and Woody does the gay thing pretty good considering he was on everything that moved on and off set when was in Cheers.............

Chamber play - The Walker review by CP Customer

Very good performance from the experienced actors and you don't notice it's shot on a small budget partly on the Isle of Man. According to the writer/director it's a follow up from Taxi Driver and American Gigolo. So we follow this man entertaining his wealthy female friends, because their husbands don't have time or aren't interested - he goes so far to cover for one of them, but will he be rewarded? A touch of conspiracy - after all this takes place in Washington DC.
