Peter Falk, as himself, assists in the transformation by explaining the simple joys of a human experience.
Detective Inspector Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea) arrives on assignment in Brokenwood, a small town where memories - and animosities - run deep. He's an experienced cop with a 1971 "classic" car, a collection of country music cassettes and an indeterminate number of ex-wives. The new woman in his life is his assistant, Detective Kristin Sims (Fern Sutherland), a by-the-book investigator nearly 20 years younger than her boss's car, who quickly has to get used to his lone-wolfways. As Shepherd adapts to the slower pace of life away from the city, he soon discovers that Brokenwood is a place of secrets and suspicions. Everyone and everything is connected, and the serenity of the countryside can easily be shattered by violence and death. Filmed amid the beautiful landscape of New Zealand's North Island, these four feature-length mysteries show that murder can haunt even the most idyllic locations.
The first of the spaghetti westerns', 'A Fistful of Dollars' became an instant cult hit. It also launched the film careers of Italian Writer-Director Sergio Leone, and a little known American television actor named Clint Eastwood. As the lean, cold-eyed cobra-quick gunfighter - Clint became the first of the 'anti-heroes'. The cynical, enigmatic loner with a clouded past is the same character Eastwood fans have been savouring ever since. 'A Fistful of Dollars' is the western taken to the extreme - with unremitting violence, gritty realism and tongue-in-cheek humour. Leone's direction is taut and stylish, and the visuals are striking - from the breathtaking panoramas (in Spain) to the extreme close-ups of quivering lips and darting eyes before the shoot-out begins. And all are accented by renowned film composer Ennio Morricone's quirky, haunting score.
Detective Charlie Hudson (John Reardon), a cunning Major Crimes detective for the St. John's Police Department, teams up with an unusual partner - Rex (Diesel vom Burgimwald), a former-K9 German Shepherd, whose heightened senses keep Charlie hot on the trail of his suspects. Together, they investigate puzzling crimes, from a kidnapping which reveals a much larger conspiracy at play to an art theft murder which runs deep into the world of high society. With Charlie's deft detective work and Rex's keen canine senses, this crime-fighting pair is unstoppable.
Inspector Tequila Yuen (Chow Yun Fat) is determined to rid the city of gangs by beating them at their own violent game. But in a vicious shoot out, his partner and colleagues are massacred, leaving Yuen bitter and hungry for vengeance. Yuen comes face-to-face with Tony (Tony Leung), a lethal and cunning assassin working for a gun-running gang, in a stake-out where it seems that Yuen will end up in a body bag. But a stunning plot twist cranks up the action another gear when Yuen discovers that Tony has a dangerous secret...
With a career spanning well over fifty years, Charlie Drake will always be one of the nation's favourite comedians and, without a doubt, his crowning glory (or should that be clowning glory!) is 'The Worker'. 'The Worker' stars Charlie Drake as Charlie - a persistently unemployable labourer. It's not that he doesn't like working, it's just that he's no good at it - a fact which consistently raises the hackles (and blood pressure) of Labour Exchange clerk Mr. Pugh (Henry McGee)! With each episode a guaranteed excuse for Charlie's much-loved inventive slapstick, 'The Worker' is a comic gem of a show and this set contains all four ATV series plus what remains of the mini-episodes that formed part of 'Bruce Forsyth's Big Night' in 1978.
Summer 1939. A teacher there sees what is coming and is trying to raise the alarm. But the authorities believe he is the problem.
The magical retelling of the Orpheus myth turns the lyre-playing singer of Greek legend into a famous left bank poet in post-war Paris. Fallen our of favour and lost for poetic inspiration, Orphee (Jean Marais) becomes obsessed with a mysterious black-clad princess who first claims the life of a rival poet, and then Eurydice (Marie Déa), his wife. With its unforgettable imagery-the dissolving mirror throughout which characters pass into the next world, the leather-clad, death-dealing motorcyclists, and Cocteau's magical special effects, 'Orphee' is a work of haunting beauty that follows the poetic logic of a dream.

Unflinching but ultimately hopeful, Time is a raw study of punishment and penitence.
