Depp almost straight. - The Professor review by NC

Spoiler Alert

With the drinking we almost go down the Capt Sparrow road, lol. Should be a 3, but went to a 4 as just so much rubbish about at the moment, and try to encourage Depp to do some acting.

Well tried storyline and format, but did manage to stay interested enough to follow the film through.

Self indulgent twaddle that thinks it's profound. - The Professor review by cw

Spoiler Alert

Johnny Depp's middle aged professor has a mid life health crisis, gets a bit drunk, smokes some dope and all his students want to sleep with him. He also says some remarkably unprofound things about life and mortality that even a 13 year old might find trite. Unbelievable twaddle. Avoid.

Enjoyable 'Dead Poets' meets 'Breakfast Club' Johnny Depp Vehicle - The Professor review by PV

Spoiler Alert

I enjoyed this film, esp the first act and to some extent the second BUT the final third ruined it for me - not spoilers.

US movies always have to descend into slushy sentimentalism often with a mystical, spiritual, quasi-religious flavour, and these days the woke virus ruins them too. Shame.

It's sort of like a cross between Dead Poets Society and The Breakfast Club updated for these pc woke diverse days.

It's a minor movie though, and not ground-breaking like those two - but pleasant enough.

But for some of the one liners and scenes it the first half, I give this 4 stars.
