A crowdfunded German film shot in a Finnish forest apparently over three years. The basic premise is that machines are taking over the world as in War of the Worlds, but there’s no plot, no dialogue (for the international market?) and only two characters. A man wanders around the forest with a big gun. Eventually a woman joins him and does the same thing. There are glimpses of the machines and a few explosions, but anyone looking for sci-fi excitement here will be sorely disappointed. Lots of trees to look at, though.
The dedication of the filmmakers and their supporters simply in getting this project off the ground is to be applauded. Sadly, judged by what’s on screen, it’s turned out to be one long bore.
Where are the other 61 reviews please, you have only shown 1 ?
This is only the 2nd film that I have felt strongly enough about to give an honest but negative review. They really should not have made this film, no really.
And Cinema Paradiso possibly should not have it in their library for renting, maybe if all the reviews were available on the website, all the 62 reviews, then maybe we would have more information to base our rental choice on, as it is there is only 1 review available, how does that work?
Some customers may like to give emerging talent an opportunity to progress their skills within the film world but at least give us relevant info. on the film & let us decide if we want to.
Of our family 3 people began watching this film, 1 left half way through, the remaining 2 decided to fast forward it to relevant scenes, not many, & thank goodness this action brought the ending very swiftly. Bottom line, this was the 2nd worse film that I have rented, ever!
The trailer makes this look like an interesting action film, but it most definitely is not - almost nothing happens for the majority of it, meaningless lingering shots of trees or the male character go on way too long, it has no atmosphere or tension whatsoever - it's like an overlong, very boring episode of a low-budget tv show - avoid!
